The 2nd International Symposium on Ethical Literary Criticism Successfully Held in China Three Gorges University

In accentuating the “ethical turn” in literary studies, literature becomes an avenue for ethical illumination and edification in the contemporary world. The second decade of the twenty-first century witnessed a new upsurge of ethical criticism in Western academia. Equally noteworthy is the popularity of ethical approach to literature in the East, which is largely in debt to the rise of ethical literary criticism proposed by Nie Zhenzhao. Against this backdrop, the 2nd International Symposium on Ethical Literary Criticism embraced a diverse array of broad topics, such as theoretical explorations of ethical literary criticism, interdisciplinary studies, and ethical literary critical perspective on national literature, as well as a wide range of issues thoroughly explored and heatedly discussed. It promotes international academic exchange and encourages scholarly collaboration in the field of ethical criticism.
