Abstract:

Objective: To discuss the clinical effect of minimally invasive odontotomy in residual roots and crowns removal. Methods: From March 2016 to September 2019, 272 cases(320 residual roots and crowns) were randomly divided into two groups. The teeth in group A (experimental group) were extracted by minimally invasive odontotomy method, the teeth in group B (control group) were extracted with traditional lever technique. The operation time length, integrity of extraction socket, gingival laceration, patients' satisfaction rate, blood pressure changes, postoperative complications were recorded and statistically analyzed. Results: The operation time, gingival laceration, blood pressure changes and postoperative complications in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group, and the integrity of extraction socket and satisfaction rate of the experiment group were higher than those in the control group. The difference between the two groups is statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: Using minimally invasive odontotomy technique to remove residual roots and crowns has obvious clinical effects, which is worth promoting.

Key words: residual root, residual crown, tooth segmentation
