Abstract: In the past two decades, owing to various  kinds of charity groups established in or entered China, as well as Chinese economic prosperity, the number of hospitals which carry out  cleft surgeries were growing  tremendously. But some problems existed, especially such as anesthesia during this process. The present article aimed to describe the special features of  cleft lip / palate infants and the characteristics of cleft care. The importance of anesthetists in cleft lip/palate revision surgery was emphasized. A new concept of "race between the hare and the tortoise" was raised with emphasis on "Team Approach". As one of the largest cleft centers in China, we intend to share our experiences of cleft care, hoping to raise the cleft care to a higher level domestically, and to get more cleft patients treated through professional cleft care and anesthesia team.
