《儿童口腔医学》课程双语教学的问卷调查报告

Investigation and Exploration on Bilingual Teaching of Pediatric Dentistry

摘要: 目的:通过问卷调查同济大学口腔医学院学生对在《儿童口腔医学》课程中开展双语教学的态度及看法,探讨合适的双语教学模式,提高双语教学质量。方法:以2013—2014年在校的同济大学口腔医学专业76名五年级本科生及66名三年制硕士生为对象,采用问卷调查的方式进行研究。结果:68.4%的本科生及97.0%的研究生认为在《儿童口腔医学》课程中有必要开展双语教学;半数以上的本科生对自身原有英语水平接受双语教学课程缺少信心(55.3%)和准备不足(73.7%),而研究生的比例分别为42.4%和45.5%。对于双语教学模式,多数同学(78.9%和71.2%)认为过渡式或双重语言式教学较合理。而英文授课的适宜比例本科生多认为应在30%~50%,研究生则认为在50%~70%之间较合适。60.5%和75.8%的同学认为应当选用原版+部分译文的教材,而79.0%和77.2%的同学认为多媒体课件应当中英文并存。结论:《儿童口腔医学》课程应因材施教,针对不同对象分阶段逐步开展双语教学。

Abstract: Objective: To find a suitable bilingual teaching model of pediatric dentistry and to improve teaching quality, we conducted a questionnaire survey among oral medical students in Tongji University. Method:  Oral medical students  including the fifth grade undergraduates(76) and postgraduates(66), participated in a questionnaire survey throughout last year and this year. Results: 68.4% of the undergraduates and 97.0% of the graduates believed that it is necessary to start bilingual-teaching in pediatric dentistry courses. However, 55.3% of the undergraduates were not confident with their English ability in bilingual-teaching, and 73.7% of them considered themselves inadequately prepared. As for the graduates, the percentages were 42.4% and 45.5% respectively. Most of the students (78.9% and 71.2%) suggested that a transitive teaching course is necessary to be set up. Most undergraduates considered that the proportion of English teaching should be in 30%-50%. The graduates, however, preferred a proportion of 50%-70%. 60.5% of the undergraduates and 75.8% of the graduates thought both English textbook and translated version should be provided during classes. Also, most of the students (79.0% and 77.2% respectively) suggested English-Chinese coexistence in the multimedia courseware. Conclusion: Bilingual teaching of pediatric dentistry should be progressed step by step according to the students' ability. Also, different teaching methods should be used according to different education periods.
