Efficacy of Botulinum Toxin Type A for Trigeminal Neuralgia Treatment: A Meta-analysis

摘要:

目的:评价注射A型肉毒杆菌毒素(botulinum toxin type A,BTX-A)治疗三叉神经痛(trigeminal neuralgia,TN)的效果和安全性。方法:用计算机检索Cochrane图书馆,PubMed,EMbase,CBM,CNKI,VIP 数据库和万方数据库,同时对检索结果的参考文献进行检索。检索时间均为从各数据库建库起至2020年2月1日,搜集注射BTX-A治疗TN临床效果的随机对照试验(randomized controlled trials,RCTs),由2名研究者对检索结果进行独立质量评估和数据提取,采用RevMan 5.3软件进行Meta分析。结果:共8篇文献纳入本研究,包括实验组194例,对照组190例。Meta分析结果表明,BTX-A注射法治疗TN与传统治疗方法相比,有效率高(P<0.01),疼痛程度轻(P<0.01);两组术后不良反应发生率的差异无统计学意义(P>0.05),且术后均无严重不良反应。结论:BTX-A注射法可以作为TN患者的一种安全有效的治疗方法。

Abstract:

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A) injection for the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia (TN). Methods: The data from the establishment of the databases to February 1st, 2020 were collected by searching in Cochrane library, PubMed, EMbase, CBM, CNKI, VIP database and Wanfang database for the efficacy of using BTX-A injection for treatment of TN (randomized controlled trials, RCTs) and the reference documents of the search results were searched at the same time. After data extraction and independent quality evaluation by two researchers, a meta-analysis was carried out with Revman 5.3 software. Results: A total of 8 clinical research papers were included with 194 cases in experimental group, control groups 190 cases. The therapeutic efficacy of TN by using BTX-A injection was enhanced significantly(P<0.01). The score of pain was lower by BTX-A injection than by the other traditional treatment (P<0.01). The incidence of adverse reaction was same without significant difference between two groups(P>0.05), and no serious adverse reaction happened after treatment. Conclusion: BTX-A injection can be an effective and safe treatment method for TN.
