Abstract:

Cartilage development is a complex and delicate process, and any stage of which is disturbed may cause serious consequences. Although a large amount of work has been studied in the specific structure and development process of cartilage, cartilage dysplasia and related regulatory mechanisms, there are still many regulatory factors in cartilage dysplasia that have not been discovered, and current studies lack a systematic classification. The process of chondrocyte hypertrophy, which is regulated by many factors, such as hormones, epigenetics, signal pathways, ion channels, etc, occupies a very important position in the process of cartilage development. This article focuses on the stage of chondrocyte hypertrophy, and reviews the various factors that regulate the process of chondrocyte hypertrophy and their important impact on maxillofacial bone development. It will provide new research ideas and directions for future research on the prevention and treatment of cartilage development and related diseases.
